Solo is currently recycling 97% of its’ waste, and we are working on the other 3%, with an aim to reach 0% by the end of 2011. |

Self closing taps are being rolled out. We’ve converted half of our water dispensers to mains, from Mineral water. This is better for the environment. |

We’re now recycling more office waste – recycling bins have been put in all offices to collect office paper waste, waste cups as well as cans and plastic bottles We’re going over to washable cloth hats from disposable paper ones – this will reduce landfill. |

We are creating recycling areas in all departments to encourage increased recycling of paper, plastic, cardboard and we now have recycling bins in all office areas to increase the recycling of office paper |

We are replacing paper towels with Dyson Airblades – reduces landfill and adding movement sensors in offices and canteens that turn the lights off when there is no one using the area |

A color coded scheme for recycling bins is being implemented across Solo Cup Europe and new bailing units and skips are being introduced in our manufacturing. These new schemes will allow us to recycle more waste, helping us towards achieving the 50% reduction in landfill that is one of our corporate goals in 2010. |
